Esthetician School

For my first blog, I wanted to talk to you guys about my experience with going to beauty school and attending the Esthetics program. Just a warning to anyone who is reading this: I'm not experienced with writing beauty blogs yet so please be patient with me :) I promise I'll get better! Anyways let's get started!

How did I get into Esthetics?

I have always been interested in skincare and makeup, but back then I was trying to get into the Nursing program. Long story short, everything I did whether it was trying to complete my prerequisites for nursing or whether it was working in the health care field as a clerk, I would just always come back to skincare and makeup so I finally bit the bullet and went ahead and applied for the Esthetics program at the beauty school I wanted to attend. I was given a tour of the school and the whole registration process went by so quickly that I was already accepted into the program before I knew it.

What is my experience?

My program is 1-year long, and I am 8 months into it so I am close to being done! I am currently in term 4 of the Skin Care and Body Care portion of the program and after term 4, I'll be moving on to Makeup and then Art & Tech. My experience taking this program has been incredible. I will say that making the decision to go to school to become an Esthetician has been one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. Everything I've learned has been enjoyable and relevant to the beauty industry and I can't wait to finish so that I could start working right away!

What is my advice to anyone interested in taking the Esthetics program?

Whether you want to take Esthetics, Makeup, Hair, anything beauty related, or even anything that's unrelated to beauty that you want to take, if it's something you really want and you feel it in your heart, then I'm telling you right now that from my experience, you should just go for it. Don't ignore something that could potentially be your calling. It's your life. No one is going to live it except you, so you should be the one who decides what career path you want. Do your research on the school you're thinking of attending, and also research on what types of jobs you can get with the program you want to take.

Anyway, I'll keep this short since it's my first post but if you want, you can follow me on my instagram since I post frequently on there! It is www.instagram.com/beauxuryofficial
